Platy FryIf you have male and female platys in the same tank, you pretty much WILL have babies, also known as fry. Platy fry are relatively easy to take care of, but not as easy as molly fry, because they are born fairly big. To feed them, you can just crush up some flake food and they will eat it. I also feed them freeze dried blood worms. One important thing to get for any baby fish is a breeder's net. If you don't get one, one of the other fish will eat it.

OverviewPlaty are a vary easy type of fish to take care of and are a great beginner fish. They are a good addition to community tanks. One thing about them is that if you pair a male and a female together, you will probably get fry. You should probably have all females or 1 male for 2 or 3 females. To tell what gender a fish is, you look at the bottom fin just in front of the tail fin. A male's fin is pointed, like the one in the picture, and female's is more rounded.
FeedingPlatys are not picky eaters and will eat flake foods. If you are looking to feed it other things, live or freeze dried brine shrimp and blood worms are good.
