Pop-eyePop-eye is also a disease that can be found in many types of fish. Pop-eye can be caused by poor water quality, over feeding, and even stress. Pop-eye can come up on a fish overnight. For diagnosing it is pretty easy because the fish's eye will be 2 to 3 times its normal size. To treat Pop-eye for Bettas I use Betta Revive. For other fish I would use any broad spectrum antibiotic because the underlying cause can be lots of different things. For this disease you also do not need to quarantine the fish.

IchIch, also know as Ick, is one of the most common illnesses fish can get. It can occur in almost all fish. To diagnose Ich, you will see small white spots that almost look like salt on their body. For treatment I use Mardel which is also used for other external bacterias such as Velvet. Also, you don't need to quarantine the fish because when one fish has it, ALL of the fish have it so it is best just to treat the entire tank.
Above: A typical case of ich.
VelvetVelvet is a harder disease to diagnose because it doesn't visibly show signs of it until it is left untreated for a while. Some symptoms of velvet are the fish "darting" or going really fast from one side of the tank to the other and rubbing on rocks and plants to try to rub the discomfort away. If it is left untreated for a long time, you may see small particles all over the fish's body that can be many colors. To treat velvet, you can use Mardel because velvet is an external bacteria.
